There are various ways to deter these insects. The most effective is by making a barn fire, but this can be dangerous to your kids. The other way is to get an old pot, that you do not use any longer, buy some incense place it in the pot and burn it. While the incense burns, carry the pot to where the insects are and make sure you walk with it all around your home. The smoke will drive these away. In the mean time you are making your home smell much better. You do this a few times a month and insects will stay away.
