Have the leftists given up on that fairness doctrine thing?

Remember several months ago, when leftists in Congress were saying the "fairness" doctrine needed to make a comeback because leftist ideas were rejected by free people in the marketplace of ideas? I haven't heard much about that lately. Did the leftists give up after they floated that trial balloon and it didn't float? Or are we just in a quiet period before the leftists make another attempt to force their ideas down free persons' throats?
