Is there hope for change for a man, if he has followed the same religious beliefs for most of his life?

i believe that its very hard to change for a person who doesn't want to...you can't make someone change. and if they do try to change as a person and they are that old yes...its really hard...its like a tree: when the tree is young and it starts to grow crooked, its easier for you to handle, all you have to do is lay a pole or stick next to it and tie it too the pole so that it can grow straight...but when you don't do anything to the crooked tree and years go by and it gets bigger and bigger, it will nearly be impossible to make the tree straight again...but all hope isn't lost when it comes to God, only He can produce miracles.
