Fondant and Fresh fruits. Can a cake covered with fondant be decorated with fresh fruits?

I think berries woudl be fine. It's cut fruits that would seep juice from their cut surfaces that probably won't do so well on fondant. Figs may work if not too ripe, and you lay them skin-side towards the fondant.
