Do I dictate your salvation?

We all have our faith, and rightfully so we take it seriously and sometimes personally. After all, no one likes to have their faith and beliefs attacked. But I wonder why it is that so many proclaiming faith do just that to others. At the end of the day, do my beliefs, and my faith dictate your salvation and likewise do your beliefs and faith dictate mine?
